About the document
A registered person with an accredited power station(s), as stipulated in the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000, is eligible to create Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) using the internet based registry system, know as the REC-registry. Registered persons should:
- familiarise themselves with Regulation 14 of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001 (the regulations) which specifies the eligible electricity generation general formula, prior to creating RECs; and
- ensure that RECs are only created for renewable energy generated above the power station's baseline, as determined by the Renewable Energy Regulator (the Regulator) when the power station is accredited.
