About the document

The Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator (ORER) in conjunction with Geoscience Australia occasionally produces an Australian Energy Flow diagram to represent the amount of renewable energy supply and utilisation as compared to typical sources.   In simple terms the supply side of the diagram represents the amount of resources that Australia has before the supply is placed into stock reserves.  The diagram also represents the amount of sources that are received from imports before being utilised for transport, commercial, industrial, residential or other purposes.
