About the form

The Solar Water Heater and Small Generation Unit Return for 2009 must be completed by Registered Persons, including Agents, who created more than 250 Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) for Solar Water Heaters (SWH) and/or Small Generation Units (SGU) from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009 inclusive, as specified under Section 23F of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 (the Act) and Regulation 20C of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001 (the Regulations).

Under Section 23F of the Act, the Solar Water Heater and Small Generation Unit Return for 2009 must be submitted by close of business Monday 15 February 2010. Under Sections 30A and 154 of the Act, the Regulator may suspend the registration of a registered person if the return is not provided before this date. Please see page 2 of this form for legislative reference.

Individuals or companies who own an accredited power station must complete and submit a separate form: Electricity Generation Return 2009 – For Accredited Power Stations.

Please fully complete the Solar Water Heater and Small Generation Unit Return for 2009. If a return is incomplete the ORER will request additional information. This will delay the assessment of the return which, as a result, could also delay the REC validation process.

The original signed and completed return should be marked as 'confidential' and posted to:

The ORER advises respondents that faxing the statement to 02 6159 7780 is not a substitute for lodging the original signed hard copy by the due date and that faxing is undertaken at their own risk as security cannot be guaranteed.
