About the document

Agents are persons that are registered with the Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator (ORER) and have the ability to create RECs in the REC Registry on behalf of owners of solar water heaters and small generation units. For further information on the roles and responsibilities of Agents, please see the 'Agents' page of the ORER website.

In order to become an Agent, you must first be a Registered Person with the ORER. If you are not already a Registered Person, please complete the 'Application for Registration' (which can be downloaded from the 'Forms' page of the ORER website). When creating a REC Registry Account for a business, the Account Name should match the entity name or a registered trading name of that business, as listed on the Australian Business Register.

The ORER will notify you when your Application for Registration as an Agent has been approved. After your application has been approved, a $230 fee is payable to complete the registration process. Please DO NOT send any payment to the ORER with this application form - payment of REC Registry fees is made via your account in the REC Registry. The application fee is GST exempt.

Send your completed and signed Application for Registration as an Agent form to ORER, GPO Box 621, Canberra ACT 2601, or, by fax to 02 6274 1725.
