Small Renewables Registration Team:

Small Renewables Registration Team administers the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 (the Act) and the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Regulations 2001 (the Regulations) with respect to including solar water heaters (SWH) in the Register of solar water heaters and carry out many other functions including the following:

  • Complete multiple application rounds to include solar water heaters and air-sourced heat pumps in the Register of SWHs.
  • Manage updates to the legislative instrument.
  • Managing stakeholder queries on renewable energy target (RET).
  • Liaising with DCCEE and policy related RET matters.
  • Conducting advisory and compliance audits for eligibility side of the RET program under the Act and Regulations.
  • Providing input to the Senate Estimates and the ORER annual and financial reports.
  • Assisting the Renewable energy Regulator on RET matters and other statistics related to the RET program.

Duties:

  1. Assist with the administration of the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 by updating the Register of Solar Water Heaters with new approved products within legislative requirements, office procedures and guidelines.
  2. Assist in office management activities to achieve ORER corporate objectives, including overseeing data provision relating to a range of legislated and technical issues.
  3. Liaise with, and provide advice to, internal and external government and industry organisations.
  4. Assist in preparing position papers, briefing material, correspondence and annual reports.
  5. Participate in meetings and provide presentations, as required, to internal and external parties.
  6. Assist the Senior Manager – Registrations and Validations with other activities as required.
